For the settlement of disputes arising from an engagement, mediation is available at the bar association; the competent consumer arbitration body is the Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft (Neue Grünstraße 17, 10179 Berlin, schlichtungsstelle-der-rechtsanwaltschaft.de). I am not obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body; whether a willingness to participate exists in an individual case is communicated on request (§§ 36, 37 VSBG).
